Guild Wars is visually stunning, has neat features such as highly customizable gear graphics (you can be a monk in hot pink robes if you want to be), and the ability to start at higher levels. For the fiscally conscious it's free game server is appealing.

But the game play. Ugh. The pathing is so poorly designed in the game I felt like I had a ring in my nose. The interface wasn't terrible, but WoW was far more intuitive and for all the graphical splendor the game offers, it runs into issues with overkill... is that a giant bug or a bush? Makes me think of herbalists in WoW... if you have less than perfect eyesight (or a low end graphics card) drop the proff and take up mining... metal nodes are big. ;)

my names tend to evolve over time. When I start a new game I often take a previous name and modify it a bit. Hence "Bionic Beefpile" (my CounterStrike handle) morphed to Bion Beefhammer. Alchux (my first WoW character name that I came up with on the fly) became Alchux Ri for an EVE alt, etc.

I've been finding that I like the slightly squashy fret buttons of the new wireless guitar better than the old wired one.

As I was telling Sally yesterday, I have a coworker that vastly prefers the GH3 UI to the Rock Band UI which I just don't understand. I really like the clean UI in Rock Band and the fact that a number of the important elements that you want to keep track of (energy level, multiplier level) is at the bottom of the strum area (where your eyes naturally are when playing). They're also very simple and easy to read. GH3's info is on both sides of the screen and is "styled" up which, at the moment at least, I find much harder to glance at and get the information I need when deciding if I need to go into overdrive or not.

Overall, pretty fun though. It's always good to have new songs to play.

So they do. For the longest time they did not which was a pain when trying to get friends interested in the game without having the buy the whole shebang.
